Spring Summer 2025
More than music, sound system culture was a radical act of self-definition. A sonic rebellion born from the margins where communities built their own safe spaces for healing and spiritual resistance.
Built from the ground up, this was also the peak of engineering: dubplates cut with precision, hand crafted systems, every frequency a form of intention.
From Jamaican roots to global reverberations, this was a cultural revolution with a political foundation of liberation and Pan-African ideals set by the Rastafari philosophies deeply embedded in Roots Reggae and Dub.
We pay homage to the architects and legends who amplified the message: Jah Shaka, King Tubby, Channel One, Scratch Perry, King Jammy, Sister Nancy, and countless others who turned speakers into symbols of freedom.
