MATHLETE | SS22 CAMPAIGN FILM BY EBENEZA BLANCHE
The New Originals Mathlete SS22 Campaign, starring Emmanuel Wilberforce, portrays the unique life of teenagers at a Ghanian boarding school, eloquently depicted by director Ebeneza Blanche’s personal experience. The SS22 collection from TNO plays an integral role in the representation of authenticity and tone which was expertly styled by Lawrie Abei and beautifully shot by cinematographer Sam Meyer.
Production Company ‘SMUGGLER’ came on board to produce the film with Elizabeth Doonan as Executive Producer and Luca Chapman as Producer. The team worked closely with the TNO creatives, who all have strong connections to GH, as well as the amazing shoot crew and the incredible locally-cast actors to help make Ebeneza’s vision come to life.
“Being a troublesome teenager raised partly in the western world, my mother always said to me ‘Keep on and I'll send you off to Ghana as punishment’. Fast forward and I find myself in Ghana attending boarding school. My experience there was immensely disciplinary and I found it hard to fit in. The surroundings, language and culture were very different from what I was used to. This project was an opportunity for me to shine a light on the schooling system in Ghana.”- Ebeneza Blanche, Director
